Our Vision

It's time to reimagine what school looks like with equity at the heart.

The next generation will be tackling climate change, food injustice, and systemic racism. Sitting in the classroom won’t be enough to prepare tomorrow’s leaders.  That’s why we’re developing a state-of-the-art K-12 campus on Floyd Bennett Field. It will be the first school in our city intentionally designed to advance sustainability and racial equity.

Launch Floyd Bennett Field will be a hub for all New Yorkers to develop community driven solutions to problems of the future.

A unique and innovative institution

View Fact Sheet

In collaboration a unique collective of exceptional organizations, we plan to transform Floyd Bennett Field’s historic grounds and airplane hangers into world-class experiential learning environments for 1,200 Central Brooklyn students. Our visionary students - who have been systematically excluded from the opportunities that lead to green jobs and most affected by environmental racism in our city - will engage with the complex challenges facing their communities and planet.

We envision a transformative education ecosystem, focused on tackling climate change, food injustice, and systemic racism through experiential learning. This learning ecosystem will directly provide students access to career exploration, work-based learning, and employability skills.

The project offers a vision for the future of education, workforce development and environmental sustainability, where communities, students, educators and families from across the city, country and world are invited to gather, learn and co-create a sustainable, equitable and just society.
